CA-LINK CENTRAL CONTROL
CA-Link is software which enables CA21 Automation units to be controlled
from a central PC. CA-Link is very easy to use and requires no
special computer knowledge. It runs under Windows.
CA21s are connected to the PC using a standard 3-wire RS-485 interface.
CS30 status panels can also be included in the network.
CA-Link enhances the performance of CA21s. However, it is not essential
for their operation. CA21s will continue to function normally even
if CA-Link is not running.
CA-Link provides the following monitoring and controls;
- The status of sessions in all cinemas is displayed in graphical
form.
- A database of sessions (film name, starting time, etc.)
is maintained.
- A database of CA21 programs is maintained.
- The details of the next session are transmitted to each
CA21.
- Any comination of cinemas can be interlocked.
- Individual CA21s can be viewed and operated from the PC.
CS30 CINEMA STATUS PANEL
CS30 Status Panels display the status of cinemas controlled by CA21 Cinema Automation units. Several Status Panels can be placed in different
positions to display the status of the same group of cinemas.
Status is displayed by the CS30 using three clearly visible coloured
LEDs for each cinema. There is also an audible alarm on the CS30 that
sounds if there is a fault in a cinema. The alarm is cancelled by pushing
a button on the CS30.
The following status information is displayed for each cinema;
- Session idle, about to start, running or about to end.
- Slides, previews or main feature showing.
- Film not threaded.
- Fault Condition (Film break, xenon fail etc.).
RP4 REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
The RP4 Remote Control unit enables some functions on a CA21 to
be operated from a remote location such as the cinema auditorium.
The RP4 connects to the CA21 using a 4-wire RS-232 interface. It
obtains its power from the CA21 and does not require mains power.
The RP4 provides the following controls;
- The auditorium volume can be adjusted.
- The status of the CA21 is displayed (idle, time till session
starts, etc.).
- Sessions can be delayed or started early.
- The cinema can be shut down in an emergency.
- The projectionist can be alerted by the beepers on the CA21
and CS30s).
- Some cinema settings can be adjusted (remote focus, framing
etc.).
